Wouldn’t you rather

If I bought you a million dollar wrist watch,
darling, do you think
it would stop time for us?
would we feel as free, in an infinity pool
will the water kiss us like ocean waves?
would diamonds the size a fist,
mean that you have the same size
of a heart full of love,
just because the champagne glasses brimmed
would our days too brim
with mad love?

Wouldn’t you rather find
that dusty book
you and I always wanted
in the dingy little corner
of a second hand store,
rather scrape our knees
hiking an endless plain,
and complain how
big the world
is compared to us.
but trade
several thousand smiles
to luxury nights
in concrete boxes
that steal our skies?
wouldn’t you rather read
the stories written
in the stars,
for the next ten thousand nights?

Strangely enough,
my ribs hadn’t given
my heart
enough geography lessons
on finding yours
when your nights played
a game
of hide and seek
with my days…
But I learnt
to count
stars like seconds
that were left
till you came home
while you drove
that turned into
at my end…

I hoped you’d never know
how it felt like
to race time-
from the hands
of your clock
to the scattered signals
of my telephone,
to the half drunk teacup
I fell asleep on
missing you
felt like first love
on my heart strings.

The woman you were meant to be

Childlike laughter

dissolving in to oblivion,

I can already see

the moon in your eyes,

the stars in your heart….

the awakening of the damsel,

within you.

The tears at the edge of my eyes,

speaks for the years

I saw you

frolicking in the shelter

of mother beloved.

I will see you evolve,

to the woman

you were meant to be,

in love you would fall,

in love you would laugh.

I’ll be around,

reaching out,

for your veins and mine

house the same

liquid gold,

for Thyou yourself

hold a part

of my electric soul.

The Soul Dance

My fingers felt like water as they melted into yours,as I felt that warmth of your palms I knew that somewhere among those lines in my palms, the path was drawn,

this moment was recorded.

So that we would know as we walk under these starlit sky,the rush of the vehicles against the wind from the ecstatic waves of the sea, that there was no where else we would rather be than next to each other.

The wind probably knew the synchronized beats of our hearts, that familiar rush of blood against our fingertips as our fingers entwined.

I could feel the star dust that you are said to be made of.

I could taste your soul in the sea breeze that rushed between us.

I could see myself as clearly as the ten thousand lights that flickered far away in the stormy sea.

Standing there next to you the wind against our racy hearts, the musical symphony of the dancing ocean waves against our feet, tasting the smoothness of the sand, loving the feel of it against its skin as much as I loved the caress of your skin against mine, my heart in a frenzied tango beating up against my ribs….

The moonlight danced upon the ocean waves.

The way I would like to dance with you one day.

It felt like our own garden of Eden.

Feeling your warm breath against my cheeks as you whispered in a perfect twist of words that you loved me, I swear I felt my being undone, I felt your soul dance with mine to our own rhythmic heartbeat.

Your dancing eyes said it all.

Looking up in a nebulous delirium I saw it in your eyes.

I saw it, for the first time.

The love that I will see for ten thousand times and more

evolving with you and I.

The words flew off of my tongue,

because I darling,

am truly and deeply in love with you.

I leaned into your arms,

my haven for a lifetime to come,

our souls calm and quiet,

wise and deep

as old as the sea,

soft kisses on my skin,

claiming my

skin and bone

the stars winked mischievously

at the moon

as they knew

our love story has begun.

Forever thine…

Reading Poetry,
You and I
The sun explodes
Against the blue sky…

Your soothing lips
Lingering on mine
drinking my words like
red red wine…..

The world runs fast
the waves rise high
Against your love
my heart would sigh…

Your lips decoding secrets of mine,
As I let my lips be forever thine…
