In a Lost WOrld

Sometimes I loved deserted places,
mountains, the greens,
      the blue skies
      that people stared at
      over and over
counting what they assumed
      to be stars.
But then there were days
I loved being lost
in the busy streets,
        because I
        always found
        myself
among the crowds
knowing, that itself
was the most private
the world could ever get.
Because people, though
        they were there,
        weren’t.
        At the same time.
they noticed you-
 but did not
as well.
       skies are blue,
       vehicles honked
      crows cawed
      life went on.
It was the kind of serenity
that you felt
      once you found
      yourself
      among the lost.
