Cold Cold Heart

Trying to shovel falling snow

from his graveyard of a heart

she sighed and sighed,

sat down and cried

 at the world

so loud

that it cracked

the unknown tombstones in his

cold cold heart.

A Cold Cold heart

she’d said

he had…

a heart of Ice

a heart of vice

but somewhere she knew…

was that little flake of snow

that crystal sculpture

he had put away,

one day for her.

“You! cold cold heart’

She screamed,

pointing a long shivering finger,

at the midst of his heart,

where her words seeped right through

into his being

into his frozen

malicious veins,

for a moment he faltered

for a moment he smiled

but this Winter,

she knew

there was no going back.
